    Honey Walnut Shrimp deep fried

    Ingredients:

    Candied Walnuts:

    • ½ cup walnuts, chopped
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 2 tablespoons water

    Shrimp:

    • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • ½ cup cornstarch
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • ½ teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
    • ½ cup vegetable oil (for frying)

    Honey Walnut Sauce:

    • ¼ cup honey
    • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

    Instructions:

    Prepare the Candied Walnuts:

    1. In a small pan over medium heat, combine the walnuts, sugar, and water.
    2. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens into a caramel-like consistency.
    3. Once the walnuts are fully coated, transfer them to a plate lined with parchment paper to cool.

    Prep the Shrimp:

    1. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
    2. Dredge each shrimp in the cornstarch mixture, then dip it into the beaten egg, and finally coat it with panko breadcrumbs. Repeat until all the shrimp are coated.

    Fry the Shrimp:

    1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    2. Fry the shrimp in batches, cooking for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden and crispy.
    3. Transfer the fried shrimp to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

    Make the Honey Walnut Sauce:

    1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, mayonnaise, lemon juice, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic powder until smooth.

    Assemble the Dish:

    1. Toss the fried shrimp in the honey walnut sauce until they are evenly coated.
    2. Sprinkle the candied walnuts over the shrimp.
    3. Serve the shrimp over a bed of steamed rice, and enjoy immediately!
