Summer is here, and with it comes the need for light, refreshing desserts that don't require turning on the oven. Enter the Angel Food Cake Trifle – a no-bake treat that's perfect for any summer gathering. I made this delicious treat for my family last summer on the 4th of July while we were at our big family reunion, and it got gobbled up so quickly that not everyone even got to try it. Basically, what I’m saying is that this recipe will be devoured quickly because it’s so delicious!

Angel Food Cake Trifle with fruit shaped like American Flag

Ingredients for Angel Food Cake Trifle:

    • 5 oz instant vanilla pudding
    • 2 cups milk
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 8 oz cool whip
    • 2 cups powdered sugar
    • 1 pound fresh strawberries, sliced
    • 6 oz fresh blueberries
    • 13 oz angel food cake, ripped into bite-sized pieces
    • 8 oz Biscoff cookies, crushed

Instructions for Angel Food Cake Trifle:

    1. Prepare the Pudding: In a medium bowl, combine the vanilla pudding and milk and whisk until smooth and creamy (about 1 minute). Set aside to thicken.
    2. In a large bowl, using an electric beater, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Slowly add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese and beat until smooth.
    3. Fold the cool whip into the cream cheese mixture and then add the pudding mixture. Fold together until well blended.
    4. Layer the Trifle: In a large trifle bowl, add a bottom layer of ⅓ of the cut-up angel food cake.
    5. Next, add ⅓ of the pudding mixture and spread evenly on top of the angel food cake.
    6. Add ⅓ of the crushed Biscoff cookies on top of the pudding layer.
    7. Next, add a layer of strawberries and blueberries evenly across the Biscoff cookies.
    8. Repeat steps two more times and serve immediately. You can decorate the top however you like. Enjoy!

    Tips for a Perfect Trifle:

    • Fruit Substitutions: Feel free to add in raspberries or any other fruit you love. This trifle is versatile and can be customized to suit your tastes.
    • Decorate with Flair: For a festive touch, especially on the 4th of July, arrange the blueberries and strawberries on top to mimic the American flag. Your guests will be wowed by both the presentation and the taste.
    • Make Ahead: You can prepare the different components ahead of time, but it's best to assemble the trifle just before serving to keep the cake from getting too soggy.

    Why You'll Love This Recipe:

The Angel Food Cake Trifle is a crowd-pleaser for several reasons:

    • No Oven Required: Beat the summer heat by avoiding the oven. This trifle comes together with minimal fuss and no baking.
