As the temperatures drop and winter settles in, there's nothing quite like wrapping your hands around a warm mug of hot chocolate. While the classic hot chocolate is a timeless favorite, why not elevate the experience with a decadent twist? Enter Nutella Hot Chocolate, a creamy concoction that combines the rich flavors of chocolate and hazelnut. You're not going to want any other hot chocolate ever again. Just trust me on this!

I have to give one of my childhood besties a shoutout on here because every time I went to her cabin growing up, I could always count on Nutella Hot Chocolate (you know who you are!). Ever since then, I've always made this at home, but I never measured a thing. I finally decided to share the secret recipe on the blog.

    Equipment

Here's everything you need for this recipe:

    • Nutella spread
    • Saucepan
    • Whisk
    • Mug
    • and other basic kitchen supplies!

    Ingredients

    • Milk
    • Nutella, or hazelnut spread
    • Heavy cream, optional

    Instructions

    Combine Milk and Nutella:

    • Start by pouring 3 cups of milk into a saucepan. Add ½ cup of Nutella or your favorite hazelnut spread to the milk. This is where the magic begins!

    Heat and Stir:

    • Place the saucepan over medium heat and start stirring continuously. The key here is to ensure that the Nutella fully blends into the milk, creating a smooth and velvety texture. Keep a watchful eye as the mixture warms up, and don't be afraid to take a moment to inhale the delightful aroma that fills your kitchen.

    Pour and Serve:

    • Once the Nutella has completely melted into the milk, your Nutella Hot Chocolate is ready to be served. For an extra touch of luxury, consider pouring heavy cream over the top or adding whipped cream on top. The creaminess adds another layer of indulgence to the drink.

    Enjoy the Warmth:

    • Grab your favorite mug, fill it with the Nutella Hot Chocolate, and settle into a cozy nook. Whether you're curled up with a good book, watching the snowfall, or simply taking a moment for yourself, this beverage is designed to bring comfort and joy.

    Variations & Substitutions

    • You don't have to add the heavy cream, but I recommend it if you're looking for the best, creamy flavor.
