Ingredients

Biscuit Dough:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 ½ cups Mexican cheese blend I like using the Tillamook brand for these
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon parsley flakes
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tablespoons butter softened

Garlic Butter Topping:

  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, cheese, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and parsley flakes.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, and softened butter. The butter won't fully mix with the milk and egg, and that's okay.
  • Add the butter, milk, and egg mixture to the dry ingredients and combine until a sticky dough forms.
  • Use a two-inch cookie scoop or a big spoon to scoop out eight blobs of dough onto the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 14 to 16 minutes, until the biscuits are slightly golden brown. Keep an eye on them, as oven times may vary.
  • While the biscuits are baking, prepare the garlic butter topping by mixing all the ingredients together.
  • Once the biscuits are done, remove them from the oven and coat the tops with the garlic butter topping.
