For the Chocolate Cake:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- ¾ teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup boiling water
For the Peanut Butter Frosting:
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup G2G brand peanut butter
For the Chocolate Cake:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9x9 pan with cooking spray or line with parchment paper and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the wet ingredients minus the boiling water: sugar, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
In a separate, medium sized bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and whisk for 2 minutes, or until well combined.
Stir in the boiling water and pour into the prepared pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean in the middle of the cake. Let cool while you prepare the peanut butter frosting
For the Peanut Butter Frosting:
In a mixing bowl, use an electric beater to beat the butter until softened well. Add in the cream cheese and beat again until creamed with the butter well.
Beat in the G2G Peanut Butter until a creamy consistency forms.
Add in the powdered sugar slowly, and combine until it all forms a beautiful and silk frosting.
Add frosting to the top of the cooled chocolate cake and spread evenly across the top.
Slice and enjoy with a glass of milk!
