Equipment

  • 1 9x9 baking dish

Ingredients

For the Chocolate Cake:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ¾ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup boiling water

For the Peanut Butter Frosting:

  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup G2G brand peanut butter

Instructions

For the Chocolate Cake:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9x9 pan with cooking spray or line with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine the wet ingredients minus the boiling water: sugar, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
  • In a separate, medium sized bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and whisk for 2 minutes, or until well combined.
  • Stir in the boiling water and pour into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean in the middle of the cake. Let cool while you prepare the peanut butter frosting

For the Peanut Butter Frosting:

  • In a mixing bowl, use an electric beater to beat the butter until softened well. Add in the cream cheese and beat again until creamed with the butter well.
  • Beat in the G2G Peanut Butter until a creamy consistency forms.
  • Add in the powdered sugar slowly, and combine until it all forms a beautiful and silk frosting.
  • Add frosting to the top of the cooled chocolate cake and spread evenly across the top.
  • Slice and enjoy with a glass of milk!
